Working with restaurants to ensure that staff are taken home speedily and safely after finishing their shifts provided the impetus for Transport Innovation to introduce its successful travel voucher system.

Later the system was developed so that it could be applied to a 4,000 member scheme providing transport for people with disabilities across a large area of the North East of England.
